Top 5 iOS Tax Preparation and Planning Apps in the US for Q3 2023

In the third quarter of 2023, the top five tax preparation and planning applications on iOS in the United States showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app:

IRS2Go from the Internal Revenue Service saw a decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 11.3K at the end of June and dropping to approximately 7K by the end of September. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend, moving from 854K to about 742K over the same period.

TurboTax: File Your Tax Return by Intuit Inc. experienced relatively stable weekly downloads throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 5.4K and 7K. The app's weekly revenue remained modest, peaking at $26 in the week of August 21. Similarly, weekly active users saw a consistent decline from 428K to around 317K.

Keeper: Tax Filing & Expenses showed a steady increase in downloads, starting from zero at the end of June and climbing to around 3.5K by the end of September. The app also saw a gradual rise in weekly active users, growing from 17K to over 20K during the same period.

MyBlock from HRB Tax Group, Inc. had fluctuating weekly downloads, ranging from 2.2K to around 3.3K. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at 38.2K and ending at approximately 29.3K by the end of the quarter.

Finally, 个人所得税 by the State Administration of Taxation saw its weekly downloads vary significantly, from a low of 1K in mid-August to a high of around 3.1K in late July. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around the 23K mark throughout the quarter.
